Compute node power management

It is necessary to perform initialization compute node after installing the module and/or adding compute node(s), that is, its comparison with the default power management device and the pad address of the power management device. compute node can be connected to multiple power management devices.

Compute node power management utilities allow:

  • to define and provide, upon request, information on compliance compute node and contact pad of the power control device;
  • to appoint reserved compute nodes (are included in case of failure of the main ones associated with them, replacing the non-working main one compute node);
  • to manage power by address pads and power management devices;
  • to manage power by names compute nodes.

Power management devices

Hardware and software complex is used for power management. The hardware part consists of power control devices, for example, ICPDAS, DAEnetIP2, etc. Software part consists of client that allows to remotely control device.

Support is implemented for the following power management devices:

  • Devices based on the DAEnetIP2 board using SNMP protocol;
  • ICP DAS ET-7067 devices using MODBUS protocol;
  • Devices that support AMT technology;
  • Devices that support IPMI interface;
  • Virtual devices using the SSH protocol to manage hypervisors.

Module provides following features:

  1. Getting information about the power status of device ports;
  2. Management of device ports state (enabling, disabling);
  3. Providing soft shutdown for devices implementing ACPI device control.
